Located in the small Essex village of Cressing, Il Salice Italian at The Willows Inn is housed in a listed former Inn, lovingly restored by us. It dates back some 500 years and comes complete with original oak beams and fire places as you’d expect.
The menu offered is the culmination of 25 years experience and long stays in the various regions of Italy. Our goal is to bring to your table very traditional dishes which rely on simplicity, taste, flavour and genuine Italian ingredients to make them outstanding. As all our food is produced by us from raw ingredients, we know exactly what’s in it. Without an additive in sight it not only tastes good but does you good! Be sure to try our homemade desserts!
We offer a varied menu, using fresh seasonal ingredients and are able to cater for those with a vegan, vegetarian and/or gluten free diet. All food is freshly prepared, so please advise us when you book if you have any special dietary needs or requests and we will do our best to help.
Il Salice also aims to ensure that whilst our dishes are special, they come to you at a price which makes your dining affordable on a regular basis not just special occasions.
Our venue here is suitable for intimate dining dates and private parties thanks to the favourable design of the floor layout. We have ample private parking for customer convenience and a welcome bar where diners can meet up prior to their meal. During fine weather we are able to offer al fresco dining. With a great wine selection and draught beer il Salice offers a very rounded dining experience.
